Weird feature omissions - still can't add an audio crossfade on the Fairlight Page, for example (stated to be in the works for R16, so may show up in future Beta).ДЄlso, Free Resolve's H.264 Export quality is absolutely unacceptable - so when I used it I had to render to HQX and then use VEGAS to generate the H.264, anyways. It does allow you to integrate a Wave Editor like Sound Forge in settings, though.

Fairlight/Audio has been buggy on Windows for a lot of users. The AAF export for Audio is severely Avid-biased (ironic, but expected.), and it has no OMF export. Resolve is amazing software, but I honestly don't care for the Fairlight Page or its oppressively nonconfigurable UI/UX. Can't think of a DAW that is better for Audio Engineers or Post Production except Pro Tools and the likes of Nuendo or Sequoia (Samplitude's big brother). Samplitude is so good at Audio Recording/Editing/Mixing/Mastering/Burning to Disk/DDP Creation that Sound Forge is basically for edge cases only. Wave Editors don't really need 64-Bit Addressing the way DAWs and NLEs do. 64-Bit and VST3 only matter for plug-in compatibility, which is generally much less of an issue for Audio Plug-Ins than Video. Sound Forge Pro versions are superior to Audio Studio versions 2-3 versions below them (Because it always had multi-channel editing, better effects, etc.).

Graphics and Fusion Renders are trivial matters.

Sound Forge has Native Round Tripping in both VEGAS and Samplitude Pro.

Designer Pro X ( 15.1 - Very little reason to upgrade off this version)ДЄdd Fusion 9 and your own Bitmap editor ( PaintShop Pro, Affinity Photo, etc.), and you have a fairly complete set of creative tools - practically everything a content creator needs, that isn't hardware.

Over the past year, one could theoretically have amassed a pretty decent collection of MAGIX Pro Software for a pretty low price: Most VEGAS Pro Tutorials are not of much use, honestly, as they seem designed more for entertainment than for education.ДЄdditionally, a lot of people haven't been paying attention to places like Humble Bundle, or MAGIX's massive sales promotions for their products. Probably won't be a better experience than Resolve, but it is nice to know your way around and have access to multiple editors in case of unstable build. Some people/companies want you to edit on specific software/only have certain software available, and being able to pickup another editor easily would be beneficial if you ever need to transition to another software or are required to for a job. Diversifying your editing portfolio is also not a bad idea. I would give it a try, for only $30 why not? Especially if you are curious. Vegas has been around longer and for me is much much more stable than Resolve, considering I cannot even get more than two clips into a project before Resolve crashes and loses everything. The r/VegasPro subreddit is fairly active and more often than not someone can help you out, free resources are dumped there from time to time. Plug-ins are plentiful and some are even free. That being said, Vegas has a wealth of tutorials online for just about anything and everything. Some features are not user friendly and the interface can seem a little lackluster and less flashy than its competitors (seems like a dumb criticism but man is it nice to see some colors when you edit for hours.) Spent a good year and a half learning it, still learning new things, but no matter how much you learn Vegas will always feel clunky. I learned on Vegas after getting it from one of these sales and having never heard of Davinci Resolve. What I posted on r/VideoEditing about someone asking something similar:
